Overview

A group for survivors who are no longer in crisis, but still doing the work of healing.

Still Standing is a support group for survivors of domestic violence who are out of active survival mode and now navigating life after crisis. This group offers space to talk about triggers, stress, identity and growth while moving forward with support. Join in person at Vera House or virtually from home.

What to Expect
Each session includes grounding, brief education and guided conversation. You choose how much you share. Listening, reflecting and simply being in the room are all valid ways to participate.
How We Meet
The group meets weekly on Tuesdays at 5:00 p.m. You can attend in person at the Vera House offices or join virtually. Before you start, a staff member will review what to expect and help you decide whether this group feels like a good fit.

Who This Group Is For

For survivors who are rebuilding life after abuse and want steady support along the way.

This group may be a good fit if you:

  • Have experienced domestic violence and are no longer in active crisis.
  • Are rebuilding routines, relationships and a sense of self after abuse.
  • Still experience triggers, stress or worry related to what you went through.
  • Want a structured space to talk about growth, setbacks and next steps.
  • Prefer support that is trauma-informed, nonjudgmental and consistent.

You do not need previous group experience. You are welcome to come as you are and to participate at the pace that feels right for you.

What We’ll Explore

We focus on living life again while honoring the work of healing.

Topics may include:

  • Understanding how trauma can show up in day-to-day life after crisis has passed.
  • Recognizing and responding to triggers, stress and setbacks.
  • Rebuilding identity, confidence and a sense of safety.
  • Setting and protecting boundaries in relationships, work and community.
  • Celebrating progress and naming the ways you are still standing.

You choose what you share. The group is designed to be steady, respectful and focused on practical support as you move into your next chapter.
