Overview

An 8-week, twice-weekly group that uses film as a starting point for reflection, connection and healing.

Resilience Through Film is an 8-week psychoeducational group that meets twice a week and uses movies as a starting point for reflection, connection and healing. Together, participants explore stories of resilience, survival and personal growth, then relate those themes to their own lives in a supportive, guided setting.

How the Group Works
At the first weekly session, the group watches a selected film that highlights overcoming adversity, healing or empowerment. In the second session, participants engage in facilitator-led discussion to unpack the film’s themes, reflect on what resonated emotionally or personally and explore any parallels to their own experiences.
Why Film?
Through structured conversation and psychoeducation, participants identify their own strengths and coping strategies and consider how they have navigated challenges and rebuilt over time. The group’s mission is to deepen self-awareness, reinforce resilience and foster connection by using narrative and media as tools for insight and healing.
