Overview

A confidential, trauma-informed group for male-identifying survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

Vera House’s Men’s Clinical Support Group is a bi-weekly space to process what you have been through, feel less alone and build tools for coping and connection. The group is led by clinical staff and is open to male-identifying survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. You can join in person at Vera House or virtually from home.

What to Expect
Sessions include grounding, brief education, guided reflection and time to share if you choose. You can participate by speaking or by listening. Your pace and comfort level are always respected.
How We Meet
The group meets biweekly on Thursdays at 5:00 p.m. Before your first session, a staff member will walk you through what to expect and answer questions so you can decide if the group feels like a good fit.

Who This Group Is For

For male-identifying survivors who want support, skills and connection in healing from abuse.

This group may be a good fit if you:

  • Identify as male and have experienced sexual assault and/or domestic violence.
  • Want a safe, confidential space to talk with others who understand.
  • Feel isolated, ashamed or unsure how to talk about what happened.
  • Want tools to manage triggers and build safer, healthier relationships.
  • Prefer support that is trauma-informed, nonjudgmental and led by clinical staff.

You do not need previous group experience. You are welcome to come as you are, with whatever you feel ready to share.

What We’ll Explore

We focus on safety, understanding, coping skills and connection in the healing process.

Topics may include:

  • How sexual assault and domestic violence can affect thoughts, emotions, body and relationships.
  • Common trauma responses and ways to reduce shame and self-blame.
  • Grounding and coping strategies for triggers, flashbacks and intense emotions.
  • Boundaries, trust and safety in current and future relationships.
  • Finding connection and support with others who have similar experiences.

You choose what you share. The group is structured to protect privacy and safety while making space for honest conversation and mutual support.
