Our very first event was a benefit
presented by
Monday Night Poetry
on September 12, 2005 at the
Coffee Pavilion,
featuring
Evelyn Ayers-Marsh &
Janine DeBaise and hosted by Jane Cassady.

One of
the highlights of this wonderful evening of heartfelt
poetry
was
Janine DeBaise reading a poem which has
become a lasting inspiration.

treated to a breathtaking performance with

All-Chopin Piano Recital: a Benefit for Vera House
presented by Dr. Kevin Moore on March 5th, 2006
at the Cathedral of the
Immaculate Conception.

February brought the V-Day
Worldwide Campaign
Syracuse premiere of
Eve Ensler's "The Vagina Monologues"
presented by Victoria King
and featuring an "all-star"
cast!
Performances were offered on February 24th & 25th at
Jazz Central.

young survivors
of sexual assault or abuse
were displayed at the Teen Survivors' Art Exhibit
from June 9th through July 3rd, 2006
at the Westcott
Community Center Art Gallery.

The
Art of Caring premiere season came full circle with the
2nd Annual Monday Night Poetry Vera House Benefit
on August 8th, 2006 at the Coffee
Pavilion.
The event featured renowned slam poet Patricia
Smith
and was hosted by MNP's Jane Cassady.

Over a dozen of the
area's most gifted
poets offered
inspiring words about surviving domestic and sexual
violence. |

Monday Night Poetry provided a forum for
