we have been selected
to receive the federal
Violence Against
Women Office
Education & Technical
Assistance Grant
to End Violence Against Women with Disabilities

This
grant, in the amount of
$750,000
over three years
will be used to improve the community's response to
domestic violence and sexual assault for women with
disabilities.
We will be working in partnership with ARISE, Inc.

Vera House recently received a gift of $165.84 from
The
Body Shop
at
Shoppingtown Mall
On Sept. 22nd & 23rd The Body Shop offered
its customers
special $3 makeovers
with all proceeds directed to
Vera House children's programs & services.

gift resulted from The Body Shop's National
"Stop
Violence in the Home Campaign"
which
aims to break the silence around the issue of family
violence
and bring support, awareness & education to their
customers & employees.
