IMPORTANT
ANNOUNCEMENT:
emergency 911 access from
analog
cell phones
ends February 19, 2008 |
Over a million cell phone users may have lost
access to 911 on February 19, 2008 when many
cellular providers received FCC approval to turn off
their analog networks. You were not affected
if you have a digital phone. But if you have
received an older analog phone through a donation
program for the purpose of emergency access to
911, your service may have been discontinued. To
learn more about how you can find out if your
cellular service has been affected and if so, what
to do, please visit this website:

Why donate a cell phone
to Vera House?
you can
enable a person in crisis
to call 911
in an emergency situation |
|
Having the option to contact law enforcement during an
emergency
isn't always possible for individuals who utilize Vera
House services.
Their abusive partner may have broken, stolen or hidden
their phone, or
their home phone service may have been shut off by the
abusive partner.
If they are able to obtain a 911 cell phone, clients can
take an
important step to protect themselves and their families. |

With your generous
donations
we are able to offer more phones to more clients
