2016 White Ribbon Campaign Highlights

During the month of March, over 18,000 Central New Yorkers wore white ribbons & wristbands and displayed pledge cards to raise awareness about domestic and sexual violence.

Participants made this important statement: "I will not support, commit or remain silent about abuse."

With the support of our generous community, Vera House hopes to raise over $115,000 through this year's White Ribbon Campaign!  Thank you to everyone who participated for your commitment in helping to end domestic and sexual violence.

The Vera House Foundation is deeply appreciative of all who supported the 2016 White Ribbon Campaign!

The 2016 White Ribbon Campaign was recognized and celebrated across our community in a variety of ways. Here are some exciting highlights:

We'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Doug Logan for serving as 2016 White Ribbon Campaign Honorary Chair. Doug's passion and enthusiasm ensured a successful Campaign!
We are grateful to the Syracuse University community for their tremendous support of the White Ribbon Campaign. We especially enjoyed being a part of the 2/11 Men's Basketball game distributing ribbons & hosting a table in the backcourt.
On March 3rd, Congressman John Katko spoke on the House floor in support of the White Ribbon Campaign.  Click HERE to watch Rep. Katko's speech.
Over $10,800 was raised for our White Ribbon Campaign Kick-Off Walk! We had hundreds of people join us on March 4th to #StandWithVeraHouse. View photos from the walk below by Mike Massurin and Vera House staff below.
Over 500 guests attended our White Ribbon Campaign Breakfast on March 16th.  George Kilpatrick made a passionate appeal to all of the men in the room to join him and expand The 12 Men Model. Learn more HERE.
Jolie Moran, Vera House Alternatives Program Coordinator, courageously shared her powerful truth about sexual violence and the importance of the White Ribbon Campaign from a survivor's perspective during the Breakfast program.  You can read Jolie's powerful statement HERE.
CrossFit Syracuse organized a “Friday Night Lights White Out” on March 18th and raised over $5,000 for the White Ribbon Campaign! Thanks so much to Dan & Ellen Goldberg and CrossFit Syracuse members.  Our CrossFit Syracuse friends also produced a short video in conjunction with the WRC - What is Your Strength For?

Al's Wine & Whiskey hosted us for a "Celebrity Happy Hour" on March 24th. Ted & Amy from 93Q and Doug Logan were our bartenders and helped us raise $569.
Our selfie board was a great success and a fun way to promote the White Ribbon Campaign on social media.   View the photo album below.

Thanks to Twin Oaks Agency Group for our beautiful White Ribbon Campaign posters!  We also appreciate Upstate Printing's in-kind donation of printing.

Time Warner Cable was extremely generous and produced our White Ribbon Campaign PSA featuring Doug Logan and former SU Athletic Director Mark Coyle. Watch it HERE.
Syracuse Label and Surround Printing were a tremendous partner and printed thousands of our White Ribbon Campaign pledge cards to distribute throughout the community.  We appreciate their help in spreading our message.
We’re so grateful for the continued support of Lamar Outdoor Advertising, who donates electronic billboard space at locations throughout the community to publicize the White Ribbon Campaign message.  As a result of Lamar’s generosity, hundreds of thousands of people saw the White Ribbon Campaign message.

We'd like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to our 2016 White Ribbon Campaign sponsors:
