The Vera House Foundation Scholarship (an Onondaga
Community College Foundation scholarship) was
established in 2007 by Data Key Communications in
collaboration with Vera House to empower women
living in a world impacted by domestic violence to
live safe, self-sufficient lives through higher
education at Onondaga Community College.
Scholarship awards, together with all available
federal and state grants-in-aid, will provide full
tuition and fees, room, board, and other educational
expenses on an annual basis, and is renewable for a
second year of study.
To
qualify for this scholarship you must be a female,
senior high school student, with at least a 75
average, attending any public, private, or parochial
high school in Onondaga County. You must apply for
admission to Onondaga Community College and must
submit an essay on what domestic violence and/or
sexual abuse means to you, or how it has affected
your life.
