SUPPORT VERA HOUSE FOUNDATION'S NEW LONG-TERM SUSTAINABILITY CAMPAIGN: “HELP HOPE HAPPEN: STAND UP FOR COMPASSION”
There is sadly no finish line for the work of Vera House. There will be more women, children and men to come behind those who are in crisis today. Current economic conditions also necessitate that we be prepared for the future, and this program will ensure that the important work of Vera House will continue for years to come.
Please embrace our vision: a world in which domestic violence and sexual assault no longer exist; where every person is honored and respected in their relationships; and every child can trust the adults in their life to keep them safe. Stand up for Compassion. With your support, we can “Help Hope Happen”.
To make a donation to the “Help Hope Happen” campaign, you may write a check payable to the Vera House Foundation and mail it to:

MATERIAL DONATIONS
We sincerely appreciate the generous donations from members of the community that help us to make our emergency shelters comfortable living spaces for individuals and families in crisis and transition. In order to best meet the needs of our shelter residents and accommodate our storage and transport limitations, we ask that donated items be NEW (some may be in "like new" condition - please consult the detailed list below) and be delivered to our administrative offices Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm at the address above (click HERE for driving directions).
Click HERE for a printable list of requested items.
CELL PHONE DONATIONS
Why donate a cell phone to Vera House? You can enable a person in crisis to call 911 in an emergency situation. There are two ways you can donate cell phones:
-
Through Verizon's HopeLine Project, used cell phones are refurbished or recycled. Cell phones and airtime are then donated to victims of domestic violence. Cell phones must be delivered to a local Verizon Wireless location. To learn more, click HERE, then click on "Store Locator" to find a convenient Verizon site. We recommend you call the store in advance to confirm that they are currently accepting donations.
-
Vera House partners with Shelter Alliance, a firm that specializes in the collection and responsible recycling of used cellular phones. All proceeds from this collection program will benefit Vera House programs and services. Phones can be dropped off at Vera House or shipped directly to our recycling partner. Click HERE to visit the Shelter Alliance website for more details.
For questions about cell phone donations, contact Mildred Winslow at 315-425-0818 ext. 210 or click HERE to e-mail her.
HAVE A CAR TO DONATE?
When you donate a vehicle through Cars4Charities, a portion of the proceeds can be designated to Vera House. Visit their website at http://www.cars4charities.org for more information.
Thank you for your generous support!
