Cell Phone Donations

Why donate a cell phone to Vera House? You can enable a person in crisis to call 911 in an emergency situation. In addition, you are helping to protect the environment by keeping these items out of our landfills, while helping to support those we serve. There are two ways you can donate cell phones:

  • For phones that we don’t require for program needs, Vera House has partnered with Smartphone Recycling (www.smartphonerecycling.com), a firm that specializes in the collection and responsible recycling of used cellular phones. All proceeds from this collection program benefit Vera House programs and services. Phones can be dropped off at Vera House M-F between 8:30 am and 5 pm.
  • Through Verizon's HopeLine Project, used cell phones are refurbished or recycled. Cell phones and airtime are then donated to victims of domestic violence. Cell phones must be delivered to a local Verizon Wireless location.

For questions about cell phone donations, contact Maryann Wood at 315-425-0818 ext. 2234 or send her an email.
