For
many years, Onondaga County found that 25% of
homicide victims in our community were women killed
by a current or former male partner. Traditionally,
this resulted in at least 3 or 4 female intimate
partner homicide victims each year.
◘
In 2006, there were
1 male & 2 female victims of
intimate partner homicide, and 1 female
victim of alleged intimate partner homicide in Onondaga County. As of
October 18, 2007, there was 1 female victim of
alleged intimate partner homicide.
◘
There was also 1 79-year-old female victim of
alleged homicide. The suspect in the case is the
victim's grandson.
