Vera House Elder Abuse Education Program Receives State Recognition

The New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) has awarded Certificates of Recognition for Outstanding Partners in the Protective Services for Adults (PSA) Delivery Network to eighteen individuals and organizations across the State.  The certificates were presented by OCFS Bureau of Adult Services Director Alan J. Lawitz at the 18th annual Adult Abuse Training Institute on September 22, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo Hotel and Conference Center.

The Vera House Elder Abuse Education Program was one of 18 organizations recognized for their accomplishments in the field of Elder Abuse.  According to OCFS Commissioner Gladys Carrión, Esq., "Through our Certificates of Recognition Program, we hope to increase public awareness of and appreciation for the often unsung work done on a daily basis by these dedicated professionals to protect elderly and disabled adults from harm, and to assist them to continue to live safely in the community."
