Girl Scouts Collecting Pajamas for Women and Children in Need

Girl Scouts across Central New York are collecting new, warm clothing to give the gift of warmth to those in need this season.  The Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways and The Summit Federal Credit Union are teaming up to present the PJ Round-Up, a public service initiative for Girl Scout troops.  PJ Round-Up provides new warm pajamas, slippers and robes for women and children living in area shelters.

The event was launched today at a Movie Party at the Palace Theatre in Syracuse, where hundreds of Girl Scouts enjoyed the movie “Worst Witch.”   Each girl brought a pair of new pajamas to begin the collection drive.  Donations will be collected through November 30 at Summit branches in greater Syracuse; Girl Scout Service Centers; JC Penney and Enterprise locations (see below for list).

"We can’t thank the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways enough for including Vera House as a beneficiary of their PJ Round-Up", said Vera House Executive Director Randi Bregman.  "Our shelters have been running at maximum capacity and the need for services has never been greater.  In the midst of these challenges, it’s reassuring to know we will have the ability to provide warm and cozy pajamas to those we serve at a time when they need comfort and support the most."
