18th Annual White Ribbon Campaign

Mar 23, 2012 to Apr 1, 2012

From March 23 - April 1, thousands of Central New Yorkers will be wearing a white ribbon or white wristband to raise awareness about domestic and sexual violence.

The White Ribbon Campaign is led by men and encourages all members of the community - men and women, young and old - to join them in their efforts. This male leadership helps to acknowledge the important contributions men have made to this effort and invites others to take a role.

Wearing a white ribbon or wristband is an important statement. It means you will not condone, support or commit domestic or sexual violence.

The 2011 White Ribbon Campaign involved over 34,000 people in the Greater Syracuse community! Join this year's Honorary Chair Rev. Kevin Agee and participate in the18th Vera House Foundation White Ribbon Campaign!

We're thrilled to take part in the international effort "Walk A Mile in Her Shoes ®" again this year and invite male participants to walk in women's shoes.  We believe the walk offers men an opportunity to reflect on women’s experiences, thus potentially changing perspectives and helping improve gender relations and decrease the potential for violence.

NEW THIS YEAR...join us for lunch at King & King Architects after the walk!  Thanks to Campaign Co-Chair Jim King for hosting the luncheon.
